I have got a front Mavic D521 32H and a D521 36H for the rear both are the standard type of the Mavic D521. Mavic D521's are used by loads of people and many pro's. They are known to be very strong, the braking surface is machined to aid braking. You could get the more expensive Ceramic coated ones which further help breaking, but the ceramic tends to rub off so I would go for the standard as it is cheaper and has the same strength and lightness. 590grams a rim compared to my Rigida which is 900grams is nothing.
Good dependable rim, strong, light and not that expensive
